ANDY ANDYANDY ANDY, during his triumphant music career, proved himself to be one of the most admired Hispanic Artist by the international audience. Moreover, the popular interpreter of great stages, sold more than 250.000 copies, becoming the Number 1 sales for more than 32 consecutive weeks and maintaining the multiple top spots on a variety of important radio charts and other preferred media showcases in the country.
ANDY ANDY was born in "Azua", Dominican Republic. He started his musical career as "merenguero" and released 3 discographic productions of this genre Por Una Mujer, Cojele El Swing and Justo a Tiempo, but his romanticism steered him towards Bachata.
In 2003, he released his first CD “Aquí Conmigo”, which earned him a nomination to the prestigious Billboard Award in the Tropical “Air Play Track of the Year”; he also scored him gaining 3 wins at the Estrella Awards and a Quisqueya Award, presented to the best Latin Music talent in New York City.
In 2004, it is released his second album “Necesito Un Amor” yielding hits such as Voy A Tener Que Olvidarte and Necesito Un Amor. The Album repaid him with his first nomination to Latin Grammy in the category “Best Tropical Contemporary Album Of The Year”, at the same way of his first nomination to Lo Nuestro Awards in the “Tropical Traditional Artist Of The Year”. He gained other awards such as the high award from the Governor of New York State, George Pataki, who honored the artist by a Decree for his hard work and development as an example for Latin youth; so did the Connecticut State that declared, through a decree by the Governor of this town, April 7th 2004 “ANDY ANDY Day” in honour of his successful career.
In 2005 the singer presented his third Album “Ironía” including hits such as “Que Ironía” and “A Quien Le Importa”, recorded with various rhythms and that increased his international recognition. In Dominican Republic he was awarded the Premio Casandra for “Video Of The Year”, as well as being nominated for Best Artist Distinguished Abroad. In December he received three new nominations for “Ironía”, this time for the Premio Lo Nuestro in the “Tropical Album Of The Year”, “Tropical Traditional Artist Of The Year” and “Tropical Track Of The Year”.
ANDY ANDY kicked off 2006 with a rich series of recognitions and awards. In April he received three Billboard Awards in the categories of: Best Tropical Album, Best Traditional Tropical Album, and Best Tropical Song. Similarly, in México, he was nominated for Best New Artist for the Premios Oye. In New York City, he was nominated to the Premios Sin Límite for Artist of the Year, while in Dominican Republic he was nominated for the Premio Casandra as Best Artist Distinguished Abroad. He concluded the year with nominations for Best Tropical Male Artist and Best Traditional Tropical Artist, at Premio Lo Nuestro for his concept album, “My Life,” released October of that same year.
In 2007, the production "Tu Me Haces Falta" represents a new challenge for the singer, who on this occasion not only offers its traditional bachatas but as a good visionary he experiences with the fusion of rhythms such as cumbia, urban bachata, and reggaeton and the ballad, the latter a must for an artist who considers himself a true romantic heart.
In 2008, the star of Bachata, presents "Mi Musica, Dos Tiempos", in this production, the artist brings together songs from major artists, talented and legendary singers, such as Julio Iglesias "Por Un Poco De Tu Amor", La Lupe "Lo Que Paso, Paso", Roberto Carlos "Detalles", Javier Solís "Me Recordarás", Joan Sebastian "Amar Como Te Ame" y Rocío Durcal "Porque Fue Que Te Ame", Leo Dan y Leonardo Fabio "Más Que Un Loco" among others ... This album is a true collector's item, which makes us relive the most intimate memories of a whole era, where music was a poem that came directly from the heart, quite in the style of Andy Andy. The new album “Placer y Castigo” with the label Planet Records was distributed by Sony Music in USA .
Andy Andy was nominated once again for "Premio Lo Nuestro" as "Best Traditional Tropical Artist.”
This new CD was released with the cooperation of great artists like Lenny Santos, member of Aventura, Osmany Espinosa and Daniel Santacruz. “Agua Pasada”, first single of the CD was on heavy rotation on the main Latin radio networks in the U.S.
