MANOLITO SIMONET Y SU TRABUCOSalsa Music lovers, many times love the music of Manolito Simonet y Su Trabuco without even knowing it. The multi-talented musician and composer of Camagüey (Cuba), is a celebrity all over Europe, as well as in his Country of origin, he is among the most prolific authors of salsa music produced in the United States.
In fact, in 1999, he won the prestigious Ascap Awards with the song “El Aguila” interpreted by Victor Manuelle but very few people know that Manolito Simonet also was a member of the deciding team of the Latin Grammy Awards from 2001 to 2004.
Some of the other songs written by the musical genius, would be “El Diablo Colorao” interpreted by Puerto Rican Power, as well as four of the hit songs of Andy Montañez: “Todavía No”, “Amor Ciego”, “En Mi Puertorro” (which is the Puerto Rican version of “Locos Por Mi Habana”) and “Sacude La Mata”, all huge hits written by Manolito Simonet.
In 2004, the album “Locos Por Mi Habana” was the biggest sold Cuban album in the world. It was such a great success that transformed Manolito Simonet into an International Star. His world tours include countries such as: Italy, Spain, France, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Holland, Norway, Japan, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico as well as the United States.
The secret of his success is the incredible preparation of Manuel Perfecto Simonet Pérez. In addition to being a virtuoso Pianist, an incredible percussionist, and a great musician of the bass, and violoncelo, among other instruments. A natural talent that fully developed when he was 15 years of age, product of one of the best academy’s of music in Cuba. The new album of Manolito Simonet y Su Trabuco is titled “Control” and Planet Records has the honor of publishing it in a worldwide preview in Europe and finally in the United States as well.
